David and Ryan Evans were both born in Reno, NV. The two brothers have a lot of pride in Northern Nevada and believe it is an amazing place to live. The area offers so many active opportunities and this was their main motivation to create ActiveReno. Although they are related their backgrounds are quite different.
David’s active lifestyle didn’t begin until a few years ago when he bought his first road bike. Since then he has ditched some bad habits from his past and has become an enthusiastic cycling advocate. He completed his first Death Ride in July of 2012 and currently races for Audi Cycling.
David has an extensive background in the design and print/backstage pass industry. He has designed art for many world famous musicians and is responsible for the artistic look of ActiveReno.com
After growing up as a competitive swimmer in Northern Nevada, Ryan headed to the University of Iowa to compete for the Hawkeyes and their NCAA swim team. He trained and competed with some of the country’s best swimmers and coaches. After graduating from Iowa, Ryan returned to Reno and shared the ActiveReno idea with David. Since then it has been a project they have worked on for close to two years.
Aside from ActiveReno, Ryan is the Assistant Race Director at Race178 and a Fitness and Endurance Coach at Camie Cragg Fitness. He is currently training for Ironman Lake Tahoe in 2013.
